Slide Show Introduction

The Eternal Way of Truth: A Four Part Survey
by Yogeshwar Muni
This slide show places before you the nature of God and how God’s nature manifests as
the world. In the process it reveals how yoga, the union of the individual with the Absolute,
is attained.
It was conceived by Yogeshwar Muni (Charles Berner) in 1978 and finished 1979 at his
ashram Kayavarohana West, in St. Helena California. 28 years later, after 8 hours a day of
meditation, on-going study, contemplation and development of the principles presented,
Yogeshwar commented that he had encountered nothing in his subsequent experience or
study that contradicted the information contained here.
He said at the time, it was like he was on fire. Out of his own union with the the Absolute,
the root of the world’s religions and how he could share it with others became clear to him.
It was then just a matter of assembling the illustrations and text. This was a big project in
itself. He enlisted the help of Darshana, Narada (Jared Hess), Nishkala (Brock Palmer,
photographer), Lakshmi (Nancy Nugent, artist) and Sundar, sound engineer.
The four parts of the slide show are Divine Order, Cycle of Life, Transformation and
Transcendence. Each part reveals further steps on the path, higher rungs on Jacob’s
Ladder, leading to union with Fundamental Reality, God, Truth, Divine Love. Yogeshwar
uses illustrations from nature, from the worlds religions and mythological traditions to
show how the metaphysical principles of who and what we all are, are at once, the basis
of the manifest world and the means of our transformation. God IS All of Us!
Yogeshwar starts Part One, Divine Order, by asking the question why is the universe
orderly, He discusses the universal metaphysical principles that underlie the physical
world.
Part Two the Cycle of Life: What is the relationship between the cyclic nature of the world
and the universal law, or dharma. How does harmonising ourselves with divine Truth lead
us to a fulfilled life and open the door to liberation.
Part Three, Transformation, Yogeshwar explains how one’s act of surrender as a divine
individual establishes a channel between oneself and another divine individual, through
which evolution occurs. This is the means by which we transform the seemingly unending
turning of the cycle of life – birth and death.
Finally, Part 4, Transcendence: Grace, Divine Knowledge, Equanimity- God in Manifest
form. Yogeshwar says “A totally surrendered individual has no destiny of his own, no
karma to live out; however, due to the nature of prayers of others, one may act egolessly in
this world.”
This is the path by which one becomes a fully realised individual, free of desire, united with
all others in unconditional love.
The slide show was designed as a metaphysical presentation to be studied. Each slide
adds a piece; earlier parts may become clearer later. The repeated viewing and the
presentation of the same principle from different viewpoints will eventually clear the mind
and deeper levels of understanding will reveal themselves. At the end of Part Four
Transcendence is a folder with useful tools for study including a copy of the text, the
original study questions, and new illustrations of the energy centres, chakras based on
Swami Kripaluananda’s later descriptions. These are in pdf. format to print out.
I would like to acknowledge Mahendra (George Bullock), who out of his love for this work,
gave the majority of the funds used to have the slide show digitised. Nor could this
project have been finished without the generosity of Vijaya (David Wilson) and Satyen Raj
or the expertise and help of Nishkala, Brock Palmer. Lastly a thank you to Ed Klar at My
Special Photos in Los Altos
, California for his excellent work digitising the slides and
synchronising them with the audio.
May you be inspired, uplifted, and find guidance in this unique work.
